To regular users of this site, thank you for your patience.
Since launching a new version of westislandgazette.com on Wednesday, our team of web guys has been busy getting everything up and running properly.
To allow them to do their work we had to disable user accounts. But they have all been reinstated. If you were not able to login recently, please try again. Your regular user names and passwords should all be recognized now. You can now post photos to the Photo of the Week contest, Chalkboard items, event listings and Marketplace items.
To post content, click on the “To post your content” botton in the upper right hand corner of the main page.
And just as a reminder, we are asking readers to find us a photo that captures the essence of the West Island – an iconic landmark, an event, people – an image that says “this is the West Island.” The winning photo will be the featured image on the West Island Gazette’s Facebook page.
Other features that you will notice on this website now include:
– A list of municipalities, so that you can scroll through news stories from your town. It appears on the bottom of the main page and on the News page.
– A “Contact Us” button has been added to the main page. It’s at the bottom of the page in the black screen. If you click on it, you can send an email to either me or any of the reporters working at the West Island Gazette.
I look forward to your comments and suggestions.
And speaking of your suggestions, we have already received a few and made some changes.
I hope you enjoy the new site.
