The West Island Gazette is expanding

The West Island Gazette is expanding. We are heading west into the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, launching the Off-Island Gazette.

It’s a new section of The Gazette, inserted in the weekly West Island Gazette starting Wednesday, Oct. 10. It’s a small print section, but it comes with a huge digital component, offislandgazette.com.

During the weeks ahead, we will be unveiling how our coverage of the Off-Island area will be expanded. We will be reporting on events in the entire region, but will focus our efforts on six core municipalities – Vaudreuil-Dorion, St-Lazare, Hudson, Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot and Pincourt.

Regular users of this site who live in the Off-Island region can click on the “Off Island” button on the top right hand of the main page of this site to read all the latest news from this fast-growing region of the province. Once there you will find a story by reporter Jason Magder, the first of a three-part series on how the extension of Highway 30 will affect the region when it opens in December.

Our aim is to give readers in the west end of Montreal – both in the West Island and Off-Island – more news about their community.
