If you are getting into the Halloween spirit, want to or are interested is getting a few ideas of how you can spook up your yard this October, you might want to check out what is going on in Pointe-Claire..
The Smitheman family will be welcoming visitors to their “Haunted Yard,” at 116 Maywood Ave. starting Saturday evening. It’s the eighth year that Brad Smitherman and his brother and other family members have been pulling out all the stops to decorate their house for Halloween. It’s a spectacular sight. One that has proven to be popular, too. In the last seven years, more than 30,000 people have dropped by for a visit.
Although ghosts, witches and all things creepy make up the theme, the effort is all for a good cause. For the past seven years the family have collected donations for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, raising just over $30,000.
Visitors are welcome, starting Saturday and every evening afterward until Halloween.
The address is 116 Maywood Ave. in Pointe-Claire.
