COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP DAY
Bristol Myers Squibb Reached Out to the community celebrating their Community Partnership Day on Oct. 3rd.
Employees from Bristol Myers Squibb contributed their time, energy and abilities to help seven non-profit organizations and make a difference in the community! Volunteer West Island, the only volunteer recruitment organization in the West Island, partnered with BMS in this endeavour.
Benoit Lemelin co-ordinated the event at the company, working with VWI in the recruitment and deployment of more than 90 BMS volunteers to make this day such a memorable and successful one.
Here’s what took place!
At Le Centre d’hébergement de Dorval:
Ten BMS employees teamed up with the staff to organize and run a mini-Olympics activity for residents at this long-term care facility in Dorval. Everyone was a winner!
At Moisson Montréal:
Moisson Montréal, the largest food bank in the Greater Montreal area, needed a helping hand during the morning shift, so 42 early risers from BMS turned out at the crack of dawn to help sort food items for distribution.
At The Omega Centre:
Ten BMS employees with an eye for decor and a steady hand volunteered to become painters-for-a-day and arrived to add a touch of colour to several of the rooms at the Dorval drop-in centre for clients undergoing psychiatric treatment.
At Welcome Hall Mission:
Eleven more early risers from BMS put their organizational and interpersonal skills to work and showed up to lend a hand sorting and distributing food to the clients of the Welcome Hall Mission food bank in downtown Montreal.
At Pause Famille:
To enhance the cheery atmosphere at Pause Famille, a crew of nine BMS employees arrived to give a bright coat of paint to number of rooms at the Ahuntsic family centre that offers support to young parents and their children.
At Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre:
Ten BMS volunteers eagerly pitched in to help with a variety of after-school recreational activities for 60 students at Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre in Little Burgundy.
All in a day’s work for the busy, community-minded people
from Bristol Myers Squibb!
