“P’tit Salon des organismes”

Networking within the Community

Volunteer West Island took part in the P’tit Salon des organismes held on the premises of the former Lachine General Hospital on Oct.r 1st.

This event was organized by Luc Paradis, community organizer, and Guy Bolduc, head of administration of CLSC Vieux-Lachine with the goal of bringing together representatives of community organizations and health and social service providers to promote networking and to allow them to become familiar with the various community resources and services available to seniors and to those with loss of autonomy so as to enable them to better serve their clientele.

Each organization was invited to set up a kiosk to display their promotional material and discuss their programs with members of the CSSS (Centre de santé et des services sociaux) of the Dorval-Lachine-LaSalle community. VWI was represented by executive director Paul Bissonnette, Meals on Wheels coordinator Madeleine Costigan, and community relations coordinator Kathleen Greenfield.

The salon was well attended and VWI’s table proved particularly popular, attracting a large number of health-care providers!
