The 2nd edition of Old Lachine’s classic and antique car show, known to most as « Les belles d’autrefois » du Vieux Lachine, attracts new associates this year…
Lachine, June 8th, 2008.
New partners and associates combine efforts to promote the rebirth of summer and of associated local economic activity in Old Lachine, sponsored by an active businessmen’s association since 2007, known locally as l’Association Centre-ville Lachine.
The A.C.V.L. is issuing an invitation to local residents, classic and antique car aficionados, collectors and automotive restoration enthusiasts to the popular classic and antique car show, held in Old Lachine. While on location, visitors to the site are invited to take a family stroll down Notre Dame Street on Sunday, June 8th. to visit the second edition of this popular event which has recently added a new muscle car section for performance minded visitors. The popular auto show drew thousands of visitors in 2007 and organizers hope to increase visitor response and media coverage of this year’s event.
Organized in cooperation with le Club de voitures anciennes et classiques de Montréal on the one hand and classic muscle car enthusiasts on the other, the A.C.V.L. is proposing an impressive and innovative car show to visitors, with free admission, guaranteeing accessibility for all. As an added bonus, this year’s edition features a special muscle section for performance driven visitors who won’t be attending Montreal’s Grand Prix event that day.
Such an event couldn’t take place without the generous help and implication of local merchants, the CLD Lachine, the CDEC LaSalle-Lachine and, of course, the Borough of Lachine.
For a third consecutive year, the Association Centre-ville Lachine represents local merchants and business owners who are concerned with the natural and historical legacy of Old Lachine on the one hand, and stimulating the local economy on the other. Members discuss, debate and initiate projects designed to promote renewed interest in the economic activity on Notre Dame Street, reputed to be the commercial and economic hub of the southernmost tip of west end Montreal in past centuries. Come and rediscover the economic history of our great city while allowing yourself to be seduced by « Les belles d’autrefois »!
