Purim Mishloach Manot Baskets

Purim is quickly approaching and takes place on Friday, March 21st. It is a mitzvah and customary to send out Mishloach Manot baskets to someone in the community. FEDERATION CJA, WI will be selling Purim baskets which will include some tasty edibles and fun items (perfect for children and adults alike)!

By purchasing these baskets, you will be doing a double mitzvah: The baskets are made and prepared by Jewish Employment Montreal (JEM). JEM runs a sheltered workshop which gainfully employs members of the Montreal Jewish Community who are physically, emotionally, and intellectually handicapped. They work on a for-profit
basis packaging items for their clients. The workshop also offers social services to help the workers adapt to regular society. Each basket costs $20. So, in essence,you will at the same time fulfill the mitzvah of Mishloach Manot, and help support the JEM workshop. Baskets will be available at the FEDERATION building on the WI (96 Roger Pilon) before Purim.
