The West Island Women’s Centre is a Centraide-supported agency.
Registration for its fall session on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 9 to 11 a.m., 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.
The Centre offers educational, health-related and leisure courses for women and courses for preschool children.
Some of the new courses featured this fall include:
- GRASPING GROWTH – A TIME FOR MOM AND BABY (0-24 mos.) on Monday mornings
Come and meet other moms and learn about the developmental needs of children
- ENTERTAINING TODDLERS 101 (1-2 yrs with mom) on Monday mornings
Come and learn new ways to entertain and stimulate your child using simple activities made from materials at hand.
- CREATIVE WRITING on Monday afternoons
This workshop is an opportunity to talk about writing and get your own writing project underway.
- ECO-ART (3 yr-olds with moms) on Monday afternoons
A class for children and moms to explore the concepts of reduce, reuse, recycle to experiment and create something new.
- GENTLE TONING on Wednesday mornings
A gentle way to improve your posture and work your joints. Suitable for seniors and a great way to get back into exercising.
- BEGINNER PILATES on Wednesday evenings
Improve your posture and develop core control through this introductory Pilates class.
- INTERMEDIATE PILATES on Wednesday evenings
Build on your core understanding of the basic movements and philosophy of Pilates.
- THRIVING THROUGH TIMES OF CHANGE on Thursday mornings
A course to help you learn how to deal with the changes you face in your life and move in a positive direction.
