Dorval United Men Soccer team brings the Eastern Masters (Over 35) National Championship to Quebec!!!
Representing the Dorval Soccer Association, the Lac St-Louis Region and Quebec Soccer Federation after winning the Quebec Over 35 Cup in Laval on Sept. 2, the Dorval United Men (Over 35) team went to St. John’s, Newfoundland, this weekend to win the Eastern Masters Championship.
After beating New-Brunswick 8-0, the Quebec team won against Nova Scotia 1-0 on spot kicks to reach the championship final. In front of the home crowd, Quebec won 3-2 in spot kicks again against the Newfoundland team. It is the first Quebec win in this championship since Longueuil won in 2004.
Goalkeeper Paul “Squid” Desbarats played a big role being sensational in the Spot Kicks sessions, but it was definitely a big team effort from 22 players, age varying from 36 to 52, that made the trip with three more staff members, including the manager and two fathers of players.
