The search for Roman Jukovitsky, 37, an Île Bizard man who went missing with his teenage son during a snowmobile outing on Lake of Two Mountains Sunday, continued yesterday with police divers scoping the waters off of Ste. Marthe sur le Lac, northwest of Montreal.

Monday afternoon, Sûreté du Québec divers found the body of Daniel Jukovitsky, 13.
Yesterday, two teams of three SQ divers were methodically searching sections of the lake for the boy’s father, Two Mountains Regional Police Sgt. Marc Leduc said.

The search started at 9:30 a.m. and was called off about 4:30 p.m. SQ  Constable Chris-topher Harding said divers won’t return tomorrow.

“They searched an area of 1.5 kilometres by about 150 feet, in the place he was most likely to be found,” Harding said. “Anything further than that would be too dangerous for divers to search because of the rapid current in the area.”

He said the SQ will continue to search the shore for Jukovitsky, adding SQ investigators are still interviewing witnesses to try to determine the cause of the accident.

Daniel was a student at École Secondaire Mont-Royal in Town of Mount Royal, where school board psychologists were counselling his schoolmates yesterday. Jukovitsky was honoured by friends on Facebook, where several pages were created in his memory.

“You were such an amazing guy, always with a smile on your face,” read a post by Darina Hazanov. “How I miss u :(
“U were like a brother to me.”
