Funeral held for Île Bizard snowmobilier

13-year-old's body was pulled from lake last week, father still missing

A funeral was held last Thursday for Île Bizard resident Daniel Jukovitsky, 13, whose body was found in the Lake of Two Mountains after he went snowmobiling with his father on Jan. 10.

The service was held at Paperman and Sons funeral home in Montreal.

Daniel was on a snowmobile outing on the lake with his father, Roman Jukovitsky, 37.
When they didn’t return home, Sûreté du Québec divers began a search and found Daniel’s body.

SQ investigators were trying to interview witnesses to determine the cause of the accident.
Daniel was a student at École Secondaire Mont-Royal in Town of Mount Royal, where school psychologists were counselling his schoolmates last week.

He was also honoured by friends on Facebook, where several pages were created in his memory.
