West Island College students walk to battle juvenile diabetes

Walkers, volunteers welcome

Students from West Island College will take to the streets Oct. 16 to raise funds to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.
Since the West Island Walk for the Cure at West Island College began eight years ago, students and staff have raised a total of nearly $150,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The school’s 440 studetns and staff of 50 want to raise $25,000 this year.
Parents of students, community members, organizations and the public at large are invited to take part in the walk or contribute as a donor or volunteer. The walk will take place Oct. 16 at beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the school, located at 851 Tecumseh St. in Dollard des Ormeaux.It will wind down Lake Road to De Salaberry Blvd. and then return to the school.
