Police are looking for a Good Samaritan who came to the aid of woman who was being attacked in broad daylight in Kirkland shopping centre parking lot. The assault took place Aug. 5 at about 5 p.m. at 2875 St. Charles Blvd. Montreal police community relations officer Jean-Pierre Lévis at Station 1 in Kirkland said investigators need to talk to the Good Samaritan, who intervened to stop the man who was physically attacking the woman. According to police, the man ”neutralized” the suspect and held him until police arrived. However, at that point, the man left the scene of the assault before identifying himself to police.
Lévis noted the Good Samaritan was bitten by the attacker.
Ordinarily, it is recommended that citizens call 911 when they see a crime in process, and not to become physically involved themselves. In this case, however, there were no weapons involved and it ended well.
“The woman was very grateful,” Lévis said.
Anyone with information about the Good Samaritan are asked to call Station 1 at 514-280-0101.
