Son injured in hit and run

LeeAnn Claridge wants the driver who hit her 15-year-old son, Brandon, and left him lying on the road, brought to justice.
“My son is very lucky that he was not hurt worse, but the person that hit him needs to be found and reprimanded for leaving a child hurt on the side of the road,” she said last week referring to her son Brandon Seaboyer who was biking to work at the Elmridge golf course at 1:10 p.m. July 25 when he was struck by a car backing out a Cherrier St. driveway on Ile Bizard.
“Brandon was knocked sideways down to the ground and skidded along the pavement,” said the mother of four, ranging in ages from 10-months to 17-years. “The car drove away.”
“My son has a broken bone in his right arm and a broken bone in his hand which may require surgery, but luckily the only other injuries were road burns, cuts, scrapes and bruises,” she added. “His bike is banged up and his cell phone is badly damaged.”
She said a fellow co-worker from Elmridge drove by shortly after and spotted the boy lying on the street.
“He brought Brandon to the golf course where police and ambulance were called,” she said. “The staff were absolutely fantastic with him, as were the police who went to the golf course right away ...
Brandon was taken to the Montreal Children’s Hospital and Claridge said that within minutes, police were canvassing door-to-door where the accident occurred.
“It appears the car was just turning around in a driveway, the driver did not live there,” she said.
“ Since the accident, no one has turned themselves in, nor have any witnesses called the police with any information,” she added. “All . my son remembers is the car was a turquoise blue and he believes there was a passenger or possibly two in the car at the time.”
Constable Daniel maheu of Station 3, said the investigation into the incident continues.
As for Brandon, besides the physical damage, he can’t caddy at the golf course this summer and he missed out on two weeks at a Christian sports camp he was to attend.
As for the way he is feeling about the incident, Brandon said he can only pity the person who did this.
“I pity them because they ran away,” said the Pierrefonds Comprehensive high student who will be gong into Grade 10 this year. “Everybody makes mistakes but you have be man or woman enough to face them.”
Anyone with information about the incident should call Const. Maheu at 514-280-0403.
