Dorval residents have until Oct. 3 to sign a petition against overnight flights at Trudeau airport.
“At that time, the municipal council of the City of Dorval will forward the petition to the federal authorities and to Aéroports de Montréal in order to force them to develop more equitable solutions to noise management at the airport,” said Sébastien Gauthier, the city’s communications officer.
Dorval council began the petition – which is available in all Dorval municipal buildings – in June to voice opposition to flights between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
In 2007, there were 19,000 overnight flights.
So far, slightly more than 1,100 people have signed the petition.
