Watch out for counterfeit bills

Station #3

Station 3 has a new commander.
Michel Wilson has replaced Sylvie Lapierre as commander of the post covering, Pierrefonds/Roxboro, Ile Bizard and Ste. Genevieve.
Wilson began his police career in 1983, working out of Westmount, then St. Henri, St. Michel and Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and then went on to become a member of the police tactical squad, specializing in armed interventions, explosives and scuba diving.
Wilson became a sergeant and returned to Westmount and Ville St. Laurent only to return to the tactical squad where he led a team dealing in high risk situations. From there, he was named commander and also led technology crimes and lie-detector squads.
In June, 2008, Wilson became commander of Station 12 and moved to Station 3 earlier this month. Lapierre has moved on to command a detention centre in the east end.

It’s the holiday season and with that comes counterfeit bills.
A 17-year-old Pierrefonds woman made a purchase with a $20 bill on Nov. 14 at a Gouin Blvd. store and when she took her change, she noticed that the $5 bills she had been handed felt different.
She went to the police station where it was confirmed that the $5 bills were bogus.
