St. Laurent man killed in car crash

Station #7

Speed seems to have been the cause of a fatal accident on Marcel Laurin Blvd. that killed a young St. Laurent man last week.

The accident occurred last Thursday at 8:45 p.m. when the driver of a Mazda hit the rear of a Honda that was going in the same northerly direction.

The driver of the Honda lost control, skidded and hit a city bus. The Mazda also lost control, hit a lamp post, crossed the median of the boulevard and hit a Chrysler 300 head-on.

The driver of the Mazda, a man in his late 20s, was killed. None of the other inuries sustained by anyone involved in the accident was life-threatening.
Station 7’s southern outpost has closed.

The office at 780 Decarie Blvd. has closed its counter that was open to residents. All citizens will now have to use the police station at 1761 Grenet St., which will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

It was decided to close the second station because of a new service that will allow residents to report many events to police by telephone.

The new service, which can be reached by phoning 911, will allow residents to report theft of or in vehicles; certain robberies without violence; vandalism; and lost objects, like wallets, that have to be reported to police.
