Pot plants found in car

Station #7

Police were called to a company on Montée de Liesse Blvd. last Thursday when marijuana plants were found in a car in the parking lot.
The 1992 Honda Civic was spotted at around 8:30 a.m. It didn’t belong to any employees of the company. Police were called and they confirmed that the owner, a Montreal man, didn’t work for the company. They decided to see if he worked for the company next door.
While they were at the neighbouring company, where the vehicle’s owner did work, police spotted a man get inside the car.
Police intervened immediately and arrested the man for the production of marijuana.
About 15 plants were found in the car, as well as earth and water bottles.

Police are issuing a reminder to motorists about the ban on hand-held cellphones in cars going into effect July 1.
Drivers caught using hand-held cellphones can be slapped with a $115 ticket and three demerit points.
Hands-free phones are allowed.
