Man arrested for attempted car theft

A 34-year-old Montreal man was arrested for attempted car theft after a witness saw him tinkering with a car in a parking garage.
It was just after midnight on Tuesday when the witness went down to the garage of a building on Deguire St. He saw a man next to a car that was parked there. The man ran off, leaving the door open, when the witness showed up.
The witness saw the key had been forced and he called 911. A patrol car happened to be in the area and spotted a man who fit the description provided by the witness. The man was arrested.
