Middle-age thieves rob dollar store

A safe with nearly $300 was snatched from La Zone du Dollar store in Kirkland on Aug. 2 in a heist pulled off by seven middle-aged thieves.  
Police said two individuals distracted the dollar store clerks just after noon and three others kept a lookout, while two others broke into the manager’s office using some kind of tool, said Montreal Police Lt. Gordon Watson.
The safe was discovered missing only after the thieves had left the store.
Police interviewed the store clerks, reviewed the security tapes and are still investigating the robbery, Watson said.
Police are looking for five females in their 40s and 50s and two males in their 40s.
