Two men tried to rob a 32nd Ave. depanneur in Lachine last week but left empty-handed.
Montreal Police Constable Martin Desmarais said the two men, both described as being 30-years-old, entered the store at 7:21 p.m.
“One of the two was armed with a knife which he pointed at the clerk behind the counter,” Desmarais said, adding that the clerk immediately left through a door located behind the counter.
“He met up with a second clerk who was already outside and who called police when he saw what was going on,” Desmarais said.
Desmarais said one of the two robbers went behind the counter and tried to open the cash register but without success.
“That’s when they left, without stealing anything,” he said adding that the scene was captured on security camera.
