Hundreds of volunteers with a variety of aid groups, employees of sponsoring firms and members of the community put their walking shoes on last Thursday to take part in a Community Walk organized by West Island Community Shares.
The event was the official kick-off of the fundraising group’s annual campaign. This year’s goal is to raise more than $1 million.

Be it cancer, autism, the need for food, mental illness, substance abuse or bullying, it’s good to know that many local grassroots groups are there for West Islanders in their time of need.
