The Village of Hudson is gearing up to scare the living daylights out of you with its third annual haunted village tour, a horse-and-wagon ride with 14 points of local interest.
This year, the event takes place Saturday October 27, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
More than 150 volunteers, many of them local teens, have signed on to do what they can to spook you, says organizer Donna Karpman, a coordinator of youth services for the Town’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Karpman said this year’s tour will bring to life a raft of spine-chilling characters — both historical and fictional — from a headless sailor said to haunt a village cemetery to Maude, a feisty chambermaid who still considers the Willow Inn her home and, has been featured in books and television.
The action starts at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre located at 394 Main Rd. Tour tickets are available at the door: $2 for children under 12; $4 for adults.
Fortunetellers, witches and storytellers will also be playing their trades at the community centre where visitors can pick up a shuttle bus for the Haunting of the Willow Inn, another attraction.
