The simple sale of a used computer turned violent resulting in a 19-year-old Dorval resident getting beaten with a tactical baton, near the corner of St. Charles Blvd. and Pierrefonds Blvd. in Pierrefonds, Oct. 17 at around 9 p.m.
Police constable Daniel Maheu said the victim had listed his computer on the Internet classified-ad site Kijiji and was contacted by a potential buyer who asked that they meet in person. The victim showed up at the predetermined location and was met by two suspects.
When he handed over the computer, one suspect pulled out a tactical baton and began to to beat the victim, smashing his right knee. The victim was able to get away, call a friend to pick him up and call 911 to report the robbery and assault. He was taken to the Lakeshore General Hospital to receive treatment for his knee injury.
One suspect was around 17 years old, white, with black hair and measured around 5 ft 8 inches tall. He was wearing what looked like a Chicago Bulls jacket. The victim could not describe the second suspect. Police do not recommend meeting with someone in person to complete an online sale.
