A 17-year-old Kirkland youth was arrested and charged last weekend with drug trafficking and carrying a concealed weapon. The youth was arrested in a park at the corner of Park Ridge and Beacon Sts. in Kirkland at about 8:30 p.m. on October 26. Police were acting on tips from people who had witnessed the youth behaving inappropriately on the West Island commuter train and at the Kirkland Colisée movie theatre, said Montreal police community relations officer Jean-Pierre Lévis from Station 1. Lévis said the arrest was made by officers from the station’s long-term investigation unit known as MAP (module d’action par projet). “People will be happy to know this individual has been apprehended and charged,” added Lévis.
