It’s business as usual at Lakeshore General Hospital, where an outbreak of gastroenteritis forced local health officials to ban hospital visitors for almost two weeks.
Sandrine Charpentier, a spokesperson for the CSSS de l’Ouest de l’Île, which oversees the hospital, said the visitor ban was lifted Friday, Nov. 30.
The ban had been brought in as a preventive measure on Nov. 19, after 30 patients came down with gastroenteritis, a highly contagious illness characterized by nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach discomfort and diarrhea.
