Red-vested volunteer drivers now out on the road for Nez Rouge

Opération Nez Rouge volunteers are back in business, chauffeuring merrymakers from one holiday party to next or safely home at the end of the night.

The 29th annual campaign kicked off November 30 and, is once again collecting money for organizations dedicated to Quebec youth.

Organizers say the drive-home service will run every day until December 31, Sunday to Wednesday from 9 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. and, Thursday to Saturday from 7 p.m. until 3:30 a.m.

Anyone in the Montreal-area wanting to use the service can call 514-256-251 or *639 (*NEZ) if you are a Vidéotron mobile customer or 1-866-DESJARDINS.

In addition, Nez Rouge is looking for volunteers to work in teams of three: one person who drives his or her own car to the client’s car; another person who drives the client’s car; and a third person to navigate and write out tax receipts.

Volunteers can register online at or by picking up a form from a SAAQ service point, a Caisses Desjardins, police stations of the SPVM or CÉGEP du Vieux Montréal.
