Thief makes off with copper wiring in Dorval

Police are investigating another Dorval copper theft after copper pipes were stolen from equipment on the roof of a Herron St. business last week. The theft took place January 18 sometime between 8 and 10 p.m. and, comes on the heels of a similar incident late last month.

Police arrested a 39-year-old Dorval man December 20 when a Hydro Québec employee spotted an intruder on the utility company’s property near the Dorval Circle. Although the suspect fled before police arrived on the scene, they were able to quickly track him down with a description provided by the employee.

Police found copper in his backpack and wire cutters.
