Pick-pockets work the Marché de l’Ouest

A woman lost her wallet to a pick-pocketing scheme involving two men, at the Marché de l’Ouest in Dollard des Ormeaux, just before 1 p.m., Jan. 24.

Montreal police constable Chantal Castonguay, from Station #4, said the victim was walking through the mall after making a purchase when one of the suspects appeared to slip and then fell in front of her. During the brief time the victim was distracted by the fall, she felt herself being bumped by someone. She immediately checked her purse and noticed her wallet was gone. The suspect that had fallen and the suspect who had bumped into her took off on foot. The victim told police that she had noticed the same two men standing in line with her at the store where she had made her purchase. Witnesses described the two suspects as around 19 years old, white, thin, measuring around 5 ft. 3 inches tall with brown hair. Both suspects had acne-pocked complexions and were wearing jeans and black coats.
