The RCMP is asking the public to help them locate a wanted fugitive who escaped from a halfway house last fall and may now be in the West Island.

The RCMP are after Dave Ouellette, a white, French-speaking 30-year-old man, who may be in the Pierrefonds, Ile Bizard or Dollard des Ormeaux area. He stands 5-foot-7 and weighs about 135 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair.

“There are high probabilities for him to be around the Pierrefonds area,” said Erique Gasse, a RCMP spokesman.

Ouellette escaped from a halfway house last fall.

A Canada-wide arrested warrant for Ouellette has been issued, as part of project Condor, by the RCMP and the Correctional Service of Canada.

Ouellette had been serving a six-year federal term for dangerous driving causing death and failure to stop at an accident causing damage/death. He has been unlawfully at large since Sept. 17, 2012.

Anyone who spots Ouellette should call the RCMP at 1-800-771-5401, or Info-Crime Québec at 1-800-711-1800. Any information received by Info-Crime could be accompanied by a reward of up to $2,000.
