Beacon Hill honoured for efforts

School wins Pat Lewis Humanitarian Award

Beacon Hill Elementary School in Beaconsfield has won the Pat Lewis Humanitarian Award for making an outstanding effort toward a humanitarian cause.

The award, sponsored by the Quebec Federation of Home and School Associations, recognizes a school that has made a difference in the world.

Some of the projects undertaken by the school community include: Free the Children, for which the school raised money to build a well in an African community; Plan Canada, for which the school raised funds to support a foster child in Africa; and various events to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Terry Fox Run and ALS.
