A couple of local football products – Concordia receiver Liam Mahoney and Laval kicker Christopher Milo - were recently named to the 2020 Quebec University Football League all-star team.
Mahoney, a Lachine native, was a star quarterback at Vanier College in St. Laurent before joining the Concordia Stingers and converting into a receiver.
Milo played for the John Abbott Islanders before heading to Laval to play for the powerhouse Rouge et Or. Milo was a unanimous all-star selection by the coaches for a second straight year. He was good on 22 of 26 field goals attempted.
Milo also established three QUFL career records for most field goals (69), points (385) and converts (155).
The first-place Rouge et Or led all QUFL teams with 10 all-star selections, followed by Sherbrooke (7), Montreal (6), Bishop’s (2), Concordia (2) and McGill (1).
