The West Island is home to two undefeated midget football teams.
The St.Laurent Spartans improved their sparkling Heppell Division record to 9-0 on the weekend with a 42-0 romp over the last-place St.Lazare Stallions (0-9) at St.Laurent Park.
Elsewhere, the Lakeshore Cougars improved their undefeated record to 10-0 in the Scott Division on Saturday with a 56-7 win against the Rhinos in Repentigny in Quebec midget football action.
The win clinched first place for the Cougars, who are coached by Iain Sim.
Leading the way for the Cougars offensively was James Ohayon, Matt Laporta and Christian Senechal with two touchdowns each.
Patrick Samuel also scored a TD, and Jack Ferguson had a fumble recovery for a TD. Mark Rossi booted seven converts.
Jack Ferguson, Ritchie Vernet, Michael Collard, Xan Pantis and Daniel Olvera shone defensively for the Cougars.
The Cougars’ next home game is Saturday night against the Sherbrooke Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Parc Bénévoles in Kirkland.
Meanwhile, the North Shore Mustangs fell to 5-4 in the Heppell Division following a 29-27 loss to the Laval Cobras.
In bantam football action, the North Shore Lions grabbed hold of first place with a 55-27 win over the LaSalle Warriors on Friday night at Riverdale Parkin Pierrefonds.
The Lions are 7-2 with one game left on the regular-season schedule of the Quebec Bantam Football League.
The Lions wrap up the season on Friday night against the Packers in Greenfield Park.
Kickoff is 8 p.m. at Pierre LaportePark.
Elsewhere, the Lakeshore bantams improved to 6-3 with a 19-0 win over the St. Léonard Cougars on Sunday at Parc Bénévoles.
In CEGEP football, the John Abbott Islanders fell to 2-6 in Division 2 play following a 63-21 loss to College Limoilou on Saturday at Memorial Field in Ste. Anne de Bellevue.
In Division I action, the Vanier Cheetahs defeated the Vieux-Montréal Spartiates 22-19 on Saturday.
Vanierquarterback Richard Hugo tossed TD strikes to Alexandre Savard and Dev Lamour to lead the first-place Cheetahs to a record of 7-1.
