No locals were selected to play for Team Quebec, which will compete at the World Under-17 Hockey Championships, which takes place in December and January in Drummondville and Victoriaville.
The good news is that Lac St. Louis Lions head coach Jon Goyens, a resident of Kirkland, has been named an assistant to U-17 Team Quebec head coach Donald Audette, the former NHL forward.
Meanwhile, the Lions dropped a pair of decisions last week in midget AAA action.
The Lions were beaten 5-3 by Collège Antoine Girouard on Sunday night at 4-Glaces Sportplexe in Pierrefonds.
On Wednesday, the Lions lost 6-2 to the Intrepide in the resumption of a previous game in Gatineau that had be stopped due to a Zamboni breakdown.
Call-up defenceman Bradley Lalonde had a goal and an assist for the Lions.
