Local swimmers make waves at provincials

Pointe-Claire Swim Club captured the 12th annual Provincial Invitational Swim Meet in  Trois-Rivières on the weekend.

A group of 62 Pointe-Claire swimmers won the 14-club meet with 3,750 points,
while the Greater Ottawa Kingfish placed second with 2,431 points.

The Beaconsfield Bluefins were fourth with 1,757 points.

PCSC also won 96 medals.

“This was our first major meet of the season, and we are very pleased with the progress our swimmers are making,” said Pointe-Claire coach Jen Ward.

Multiple medal winners for individual events (not including relays) were
Eric Pelletier, Kyle Douglas, Allyson Kis, Katrina Brathwaite, Juliette Vermes Monty,
Habib Attasi and Aela Janvier.

Senior winners were Gabrielle Murphy and Karl McVey.

Juliette Vermes-Monty, Jennifer Dollinger, Katrina Brathwaite and Allyson Kis set a provincial record for 11-12 girls in the 4×50 freestyle relay.
