The North Shore Lions seem to be in fine form for the 2008 season as they played their second game of the season on Friday night at Riverdale against the Lasalle Warriors beating them handily by a score of 41-0. The offence started the scoring on their first drive when Andrew Hopkins punched the ball in from 2 yards out. He went on to get two more rushing TD's along with a 37 yard reception for another major before the night was through. Receiver Kyeon Nicely hauled in a 58 yard pass from QB Vincent Bourgon for his first TD of the season while Ernst Pierre ran another one in later in the fourth quarter. Shawn Steen was good on 5 convert attempts.
Defensively, the Lions held strong right from the start and kept the Warriors scoreless for the entire game. Leading the defense was Irving Fosu with 4 tackles and a QB sack. Glody Bomolo got his second sack of the year while Killian Moore made a key interception to stop Lasalle's offensive drive in the third quarter.
The Lions are back in action again this Friday night at Riverdale at 8:00 PM against the St. Lazare Stallions.
